Timor-Leste is a newer country only just declaring independence from Indonesia in 2002. This is the first time Sisters Coffee will be offering a coffee from Timor-Leste in our Roaster Series. Founded in 2010 Café Brisa Serena (CBS) is an extension of Peace Winds Japan, an aid group that has been working in Timor-Leste since 1999 helping displaced communities rebuild homes. CBS’s goal is to increase families and communities’ incomes by teaching them to produce high quality arabica coffee and providing them with the skills and necessary tools to do so. The Letefoho Renumata comes from small family owned farms situated in the Letefoho area around CBS. As CBS has taught farmers techniques and coffee producing skills the quality of their production has continually increased, culminating in this unique and delicious offering.
