This will be the second year Sisters Coffee works with the Cooperative Agraria Rutas del Inca. Founded in 2013 with just over thirty members, the coop now operates with over three hundred and fifty members, receiving coffee from Querocoto, Huambos and Querecotillo regions in northwestern Peru. Rutas del Inca’s first exported crop, in 2014, was immediately recognized for its quality and they have continued to increase in quality. Investing in their members by helping them with small infrastructure projects they continue to pioneer positive change in their surrounding communities. From fertilizer to drying beds the Co-op invests in its members and the farms pay back the investment when the final product is delivered. The Climate in the region is ideal for producing coffee with moderate humidity and temperature throughout the year along with adequate rainfall. Farmers live and grow their coffee at very high altitudes, 1800-2400 masl. Continued investment in quality, hard work, and ideal growing conditions lead to a complex final cup. In this tasty brew we find notes of raspberry, blueberry, rose, milk chocolate, cinnamon, and lime.
