In the shadow of Volcan Baru in northern Panama, Hortigal Estate has been owned by the Suarez family for multiple generations. Now run and operated by Eira Maria Suarez and her daughters.

The Finca mainly grows the Typica coffee variety with trees growing up to twelve feet high. The Suarezes adhere to farming guidelines which allow them to guarantee consistency from year to year, building upon their farms legacy. Coffee from Hortigal is meticulously processed at a nearby wet mill following the protocols and instruction of Dona Eira Maria. The strict processing guidelines preserve the unique characteristics the exceptionally rich volcanic soil and unique microclimate instill in the coffee.

Our light roast further highlights the characteristics contributed by the coffees terroir. We taste notes of citrus, nougat, floral, berry, and almond complimented by a delightful acidity.
