Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Oregon will be hosting the Sisters High School Outlaws golf tournament on Sunday, September 12, 2010 to raise funds for the girls and boys soccer programs. The entry cost is $125 per person. This includes green fees, carts, forecaddie, range balls, on-course contests, prizes and lunch. Experience one of the most unique and fun golf courses in Central Oregon and help support Outlaw Athletics at the same time! The two scenic rivers that frame Sisters Country, the Metolius River and Whychus Creek, are being reinvigorated and rediscovered with the Deschutes Natinoal Forest. Come be a part of this legacy and lend your hand to local restoration efforts on National Public Lands Day! Bring the whole family. Volunteers will maintain trails winding around the Metolius, pull invasive weeds along the Whychus just upstream from Sisters, construct trails on the Peterson Ridge Trail System, and plant and water trees. Your also invited to a reception at Sisters Artworks where paintings from the Plein Air “Paint Out” celebrating the magic of the Metolius will be displayed. Volunteers will learn about the community collaborations that sustain local restoration efforts, meet new people with similar interests, and enjoy a beautiful day outdoors in Sisters Country. This fun-filled weekend will include guided rides with rest stops on the courses with snacks & beverages. There will be parking and shuttles to & from base at FivePine Lodge.The rides include a 50-mile Epic Ride Challenge, a 28-mile Advanced Loop, a 15-miles Intermediate Loop, and a Family Ride Loop. Saturday dinner catered by Thyme Restaurant and Saturday lunch provided by Three Creeks Brewing with live music Saturday evening and free ticket to the Sisters Movie House. Community Events | Oct. 2, 2010, Sat | "Love Letters" Play
Acclaimed actors Gregory Harrison and Linda Purl will star in a benefit performance of A.R. Gurney's classic play "Love Letters" at the Tower Theatre on Saturday, October 2nd at 8pm. The play is a fundraiser for the Sisters Schools Foundation and is produced by the team that created the Foundation's signature event, the Sisters Starry Nights Benefit Concert Series. Tickets are on sale now at towertheatre.org or at the Tower Theatre box office.
