BlahBlahWoofWoof original, acoustic Americana with special appearance by local favorite, Dennis McGregor. BlahBlahWoofWoof writes their own (award-winning) songs. Drawing from blues, bluegrass and Celtic influences, these three distinctly different performers blend their individual talents to create a rootsy music that is both traditional and contemporary, and can only be described as Americana. Jay Howlett (guitar and vocals) has played folk festivals and won competitions from Oregon to Florida, stopping through Texas along the way. Chuck McCabe (guitar, banjo and whistling) has recorded in LA and Nashville, on the Capitol, ABC and GRT labels, and played everywhere from Disneyland to Cap Cod.
Rolfe Wyer (bass and vocals) is a long-time producer and studio session musician from New York and LA, having his songs performed by artists such as Jeffrey Osborne, on TV shows like Cagney and Lacey, and in movies like ... would you believe The Brady Bunch? (It’s true!)
A little pickin', a lot of harmony, and a few bad jokes all add up to a good time ... we always have fun, anyway ... think you will, too!

Socially Grace'd: Reviving Social Graces, Manners & Etiquette
FREE introduction presentation
Wednesday, March 18th from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m Sisters Coffee Building | Upstairs Conference Room.
Looking for some help teaching your children social graces, manners and
etiquette? Sisters' residents and friends are invited to attend a parent
informational session on the 'Socially Grace'd' program. This instruction
has been in place for over a year at The Black Butte School in Camp Sherman
with impressive results; children display increased self-confidence as they
learn what is expected of them in a social setting while community members
and parents compliment the noticeably changed behavior. What's more, the
students really enjoy the instruction and seem eager to learn!
Would you like your child to have the benefit of similar instruction? If so,
attend this informative free session explaining the program and private
instructional opportunities available to you. Cost of the 6-week, private program is approximately $125 per child with possibility of a 'family discount'. Call Kathleen at 541.595.0929 for more
information or to R.S.V.P. (recommended to hold a seat although there may be room for last minute attendees).

Coffee House Events | Oct. 10, 2009, Sat | Free Seminar: What To Look For When Buying A Computer
A computer slows down because of malware, viruses, and spyware issues as well as system demands from newer software on older systems. Often, a new computer is not the answer, but often it's the cheapest solution. How can one tell the difference between two computers when both are advertised as: 2.4Ghz, 2GB, with 250GB hard drive? Most individuals have no idea what to look for when shopping for a computer. Processor models, bus speeds, memory speeds and latency issues are all factors when purchasing a computer. The right purchase could mean your computer might last you 5 to 7 years. The wrong purchase can mean your "new computer" is actually 3 years old. What does this mean for you? Your new computer (according to IT professional advisors) might need to be replaced before you even buy it. This FREE seminar will give you pointers, websites to reference, and practical skills to effectively shop for your own computer.and know what you're talking about. Technical talk will be toned down to everyday language and examples, making it easier to understand and grasp potentially complex terms and concepts. This seminar will be run by Tim Nafziger, owner of 3 Peaks Computers, and is open to all ages and skill levels as well as Windows and Mac users alike. Tim does a great job at giving the technical info (for the nerds) into laymen's terms for easy comprehension. It will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 3pm at Sisters Coffee Shop. Coffee will be provided. |
